The award winning HoME Theatre Company from Prague will collaborate with University of Colorado at Boulder Assistant Professor Chip Persons to present the American premiere of their production, Oedipus (complexly).

This interactive classical theatre piece tells the ancient Greek, patricidal, incestuous story of Thebe's infamous King Oedipus. It includes the opinions, personal histories and current mood of its spectators through constant dialogue with the audience. In this interactive, audience-participation piece, each spectator has the opportunity to influence the course of the performance and become a member of the ancient city-state.

The mythic story from 400 B.C. merges with contemporary audience members' personal histories and reactions and is spontaneously recreated in collaboration between performer and audience. Each night, depending on the audience, the performance may have a completely different ending.

This production was part of Nová Síť (New Web) 2008.
